Hot off the press from Maxxis…
Maxxis Drift tyres smoke to victory at Silverstone
At round two of the 2010 Maxxis British Drift Championship (Silverstone, May 23) Team Japspeed drivers Danny Eyles and Shane Lynch took first and second, after a closely-fought battle for honours around the sun-drenched Brooklands/Luffield complex, and the Maxxis MA-Z1 Drift tyre was the talk of the event. Both were delighted with the performance of the tyre, which is manufactured from a specially developed high temperature silica rubber compound and gives more grip as the heat rises, enabling drivers to carry greater speed around the course. The tyre provides the lateral grip and mid corner acceleration that is essential to success in the high octane sport of drifting, yet it doesn’t delaminate or suffer from chunking but simply keeps going until no visible tread remains. The MA-Z1 Drift also generates the all-important smoke that leads to valuable extra points from the judges.
