Prodrift Ireland – Round 4 @ Mondello
Round 4 of the Prodrift Ireland series seen the annual visit to Mondello Park, Ireland’s premiere race track. Like i said before despite the damp weekend we where greeted with it, it was still an exceptional event.

Prodrift Mondello – Top 16
Another fabulous weekend at a Prodrift event despite the horrible weather for most of the weekend.
Prodrift Round 3 Citywest
City West seen the Prodrift Series arrive for the 3rd round of the championship. Alot of top drivers where there including BDC drivers Paul Cheshire, Danny Eyles and our own Shane Lynch of Boyzone fame. Also championship regulars such as James Deane, Mike Deane, Alan Sinnot, Christy Carpenter, Mike Fitzgerald et al where out in force to to show the BDC drivers how its done.
Hangin’ with Nigel Colfer
Over last weekend at Prodrift round 3 in Citywest I spent some time round the Paddock and the start finish line with Nigel Colfer. Up until the last event Colfer was leading the championship from James Deane in second place. However the weekend didn’t go according plan for Nigel with James Deane knocking him out in the top 8 and going on to win the event on the day.
Prodrift RD2 Paddock
Ok people this is a picture post from around the Paddock on Sunday at Punchestown with round upon us this weekend in Citywest we’ll have a quick look back at the last round. I probably spent more time in Paddock just walking around chatting and catching up with mates than I did watching the action. Heres a few pics…
Prodrift RD2 People
Wandering around the paddock on Sunday you’re greeted with all the cars, the drift machinery and tyres but behind all the cars are the people the drivers. I remember last year or the year before Paddy McGrath did a series of photos ‘behind the visor’ which were instinctively ingrained in my head because of the quality and style of the pictures but also because its something we tend overlook with all the emphasis and attention going going on the cars. The people within drifting are really important to me, whether its the driver, the mechanic, the guy changing the wheels…whoever. Its the people who make the community what it is. Heres a few snaps of some who’ll you know and some you may not.
Prodrift RD2
Unfortunately I couldn’t make it to Prodrift RD 2 on Saturday for the amateur and non seeded pro classes but did make my way down on Sunday morning for the pro class. It was a great day and thanks to the sun gods the rain stayed away. I spent most of the day treading around the paddock constantly shooting and trying to get to grips with the camera. I’ll bring you those shortly in another post and give you an insight into what was going down in the paddock area.
Colfers 1JSX Sepia
Last weekend I paid a visit down to Wexford in the southeast of Ireland where one of Irelands top drifter Nigel Colfer resides. I thought that I lived in the back ass of nowhere but Ms Sat Nav brought me on a grand tour de force of back ass down to Nigel’s place! As I pulled up Nigel was out carrying out the last few tweaks to the 2010 car in preparation for Prodrift round 2 in Punchestown this weekend. Its been a while since I have seen a car ready a full week before an event (normally night or morning before an event!) but I think it shows how serious Nigel is about the 2010 season.
Colfers 1JSX Colour
As you can probably tell this is the first time I’ve taken pictures with a camera thats bigger than a box cigarettes! I have taken two sets of pictures of Nigel Colfers 2010 1JSX drift car, one set here in colour and another set sepia which you’ll find in the next blog post. I decided to dedicate the full car review to the ones taken with the sepia setting as I think they look a lot better.
